All About Me...
|
I am a fourth year student at the illustrious Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. Sitting on the highest of seven hills in Tallahassee, Florida, FAMU is an HBCU dedicated to the educating of minorities with "Excellence with Caring" as its foundation. To our credit, we have nationally-ranked pharmacy, business, architecture, and nursing programs, and in 1998, we were selected as the TIME/Princeton College Review "College of the Year."
My major at this wonderful instituion is biology/pre-med. I also have a minor in Spanish to make myself more marketable in my medical career. As a pediatrician, I desire to establish a family practice and to open a clinic of some sort in a low-income area to treat families who cannot afford adequate health care. But that's enough about my educational and professional endeavors -- let's talk more about me...

The "Poetic Rattler" is just a little name I created because it expresses two of my favorite interests: my school and my poetry. The "poetic" adjective also describes how I feel about life. It's a journey, life that is -- a neverending story laden with emotional highs and lows. However, in the midst of the dramatic issues, antagonists, and wayward plots which permeate the epic called life, the final chapter will be one that highlights the triumph of the human spirit in the face of adversity.

My interests:
|
Without a doubt, music is my biggest interest. Since the age of 10, I've been involved in musical activities and a great part of my high school career revolved around musical competitions and performances across the state. I'm basically into all music -- R & B, gospel, and hip-hop are my favorites. I also enjoy classical and opera selections as well since I began as a classical musician. Since college, I've continued my instrumental activities as director/musician for a couple of choirs, a member of the world-renowned Florida A & M University "Marching 100," a member of the Florida A & M University Concert Choir, and hopefully, as a member of the 2000-2001 season of the FAMU Connection.
Aside from school and work, I spend most of my time chillin' with my friends. That's my favorite pastime. My friends and I have the most fun sitting around talking about whatever's clever.
